Kitchen Re-do

My kitchen redo is finally complete!  For now anyway, who am I kidding I can't leave anything alone for very long.

Here is the kitchen when we looked at the house originally.  Unimpressive to say the least.  We ditched the appliances and got stainless steel.  I also painted the cabinets, what a job!

Then for some unknown reason I painted it highlighter blue.  Maybe I was tired of our all white apartment or I had been sniffing cabinet paint too long.  So it stayed that way for almost 3 years.  I tried to work with it.  It just wasn't happening so I did what I always do started selling to make money for the
re-do.  I sold the old curtains and other decor.
!

I decided on Perfectly Greige paint by Sherwin Williams.  It turned out just how I had hoped.
Here is the after:

So much more neutral and calming.  I decided against curtain panels in the bay window again so I followed this tutorial and made 3 roman shades from 1 curtain panel.

I kept my free red chandelier just removed the lamp shades.

My kitchen table and chairs stayed the same.  You can see the chair project post here

I used curtain panels on this window.  I kept the 2 pics of Reid (I need to change out one to one of Grace.)  My sister found the cute utensil print for me on clearance at Hobby Lobby.

View from behind the island.

I repurposed my red bread box to keep my coffee supplies for the Keurig.

I love the cozy little sink area.  I painted the chalkboard frame and added the little wreath.
I have my homemade hand soap in a mason jar soap pump I made.
You can also see my new owl Scentsy warmer.  I'm obsessed with Sweet Pea & Vanilla fragrance.

Stove area:

To the right of my stove I put my thrifted lamp & favorite EttaB pottery.  I added 2 fabric rosettes to the shade: one is a gold polka & the other is a strip of leftover curtain fabric.

This was another completely free project-the absolute best kind!
My sister came over and helped me put all my decorations back out, I can always count on her for that!

  1. Hi, Would love to know what paint you used for the bread box. I have the same bread box in an ugly green pea color. It needs to be painted :)
