I've tried lots of new recipes so far this year. These are some of my favorites! If you are like me you want someone to tell you what they have tried so you don't end your meal by immediately getting up and scraping leftovers into the disposal. If you don't believe me just ask my husband about a tortilla casserole I made our first year of marriage! Yuck.
My friend Angelyn is a great cook so I've tried & bought ingredients to try a few more of her recipes she blogged about or has cooked for us. Also for our Valentine's meal I cooked her pork tenderloin and sweet potatoes (these don't have a pic so you can't pin them, boo) and roasted veggies.
Roasting veggies (the Pinterest way) is my absolute favorite way to eat veggies. It's very easy and you don't have to make them unhealthy covered in cheese and butter and they still taste so good.
Last night I made cream cheese chicken with broccoli.
I served mine over rice but you could also do pasta. I made baked apples on the side.
For the shower I hosted Saturday I made Cheese Grit Soufflé (from my friend Kelsey) and Brown Sugar Bacon (another recipe I found through Angelyn). Both of these are SO good and fattening to say the least. They are perfect for showers since hopefully you won't be eating them too often.
I've also tried the spinach artichoke alfredo pizza, grilled cheeseburger wraps, and in the crock pot for tonight french dip sandwiches.
For NYE I made carmelitas. These are on of my favorite deserts. They are rich & delicious!
Anything new you have tried & loved??
