Pinterest Fun

I'm such a visual person.  I love looking at Pinterest or back in the golden ages magazines & decorating books.  I also used to watch HGTV but haven't really in a year or so.  I found so many neat ideas and inspiration from Pinterest.  Here are some things I've done.

I made a mason jar soap pump and made homemade hand soap to go in it.  I love how the hand soap smells.  Also it was $5 for one gallon of it, not too shabby!
You can find the recipe I use for counter top cleaner & laundry detergent here & here.

One of my very favorite things of Pinterest is ideas on how to use ordinary things around your house for another purpose.  I use a Parmesan cheese container for Reid's crayons.  I can throw them in our bag and don't have to worry about them falling out of their box or melting on something important.  I also re-use my Clorox wipe containers to hold trash bags in the car.  One container holds about 10.  I also keep one upstairs for emptying trash cans up there.  On Pinterest they have theirs covered with cute scrap book paper. I also save old jars to organize baking goods, spices, etc.  You can posts about organizing my pantry here & here.

Also in efforts to save more money grocery shopping I read all about price matching at Wal-Mart through a link on Pinterest.  If you know me at all you know I go in Wal-Mart maybe twice a year.  I just don't enjoy shopping there.  However, I tried this last time I shopped.  It was easy and gave me big savings.

Also I see other ideas to inspire decorating touches around the house.  I pinned the pic on the left forever ago.  When my sister and I were putting my kitchen back together we both had the same thought to spruce up my chalkboard. It did have a brown frame.  I painted it green and we added the wreath and cute ribbon to it.

Also I'll show off my sister's crafty work.  She made she and I burlap bunnies for our front doors.
How cute!!

  1. I just started using the soap you made, and it smells good! I am gonna have to put trash bags in my car like that. It's inevitable that we need them!
